Well, I'd call this idea "sorta" new. A similar device was the "Hiss"
mount that appeared at star parties off and on back in the 80s. It was
very much like your concept, but used air escaping from an innertube
rather than water as in your design (if I understand what you're doing
correctly). The Hiss drive certainly worked, though not well enough for
imaging...it was not possible to regulate the speed of the thing well
enough for that. If you've been able to do that with your mount, my
hat's off to you, but I'll have to be convinced. ;-)

Ah, yes. The Hiss Drive. I remember seeing that at Riverside in 1985.
