G-11 work bench mounting

I suppose it's a well-worn idea, but I just stumbled on it.

I wanted to mount my G-11 head to a short tripod or directly to my
workbench to do some work on it, so I looked up the price of the field
tripod adapter on the Losmandy website and decided $90 plus the wait
were a little much for just a stable way to keep the head from tipping
over. My solution was to visit a recycle operation (the Goodwill would
also do) and pick up a heavy, small cooking pot 5.5 inches clear
interior and full 1/4 thick aluminum for a couple of bucks. Off with
the handle, drill 4 holes, and bolt to the bench and voila the G-11
head is stable on the workbench.

(Of course when I went to drill the holes my drill press motor choose
the moment to conk out after working reliably for 20 years, and I had
to get and mount a new motor delaying me more than enough time for an
adapter to have arrived which is a common enough Murphy's law result.)
