I need s.a.a advice. What would YOU do...?

I bought a "buy it now" scope on Ebay for a very nice price. I paid
immediately via paypal. I got an e-mail from the seller saying he'd
received the payment, and would ship within a day or two. Then I
got a shipping notice from FedEx, saying a shipment was being
arranged.

Then I got another e-mail from the seller saying he'd mistakenly
set the buy it now too low, and unless I pay another $60 he won't
ship it. (He did offer to refund the money alrealy paid.) I do have to
say I didn't like the tone of the e-mail. He essentially stated it was
either pony up the extra bucks, or give up the scope.

My dilemna is this - do I try to get him to abide the original deal,
which per ebay rules he is required to do? Or do I let him off the
hook? It could certainly have been a mistake, as it was a very nice
price.

If it makes any difference, this person is a big-time ebay seller
and astro dealer, not some guy off the street selling his only scope.
He has good ebay ratings, but not so good on another rating site due
to not honoring his word and misrepresenting merchandise
(according to the accusers, of course. I don't know his side of the
story)

What would the esteemed folks here do?
