No argument that for most people, increased magnification will make it
easier to split close doubles. But I don't think I agree that this is
more true when the images have increased overlap because of poor optics.
I agree with you, and that's what I responded to Dennis with. I think
we're experiencing some contextual issues here...
I am not sure what you two are agreeing to, but I would like to be very
clear that I have always found that it requires more power to split close
doubles in scopes that I know have inferior (and/or poorly collimated)
optics than in scopes that I know have better (and/or well collimated)
optics. Good optics = more pin-point stars, and bad optics = more bloated
stars. Is this not your experience?
