You mean the battery on the LX200 circuit board?
I don't use batteries to power the telesocpe.

I was thinking... is it possible that the grease on the worm gear is
too old and it gets harder when temperature falls during the night and
so the telescope slows down?

Yes it has, It it set to sidereal. The problem is not that the speed is
too slow (this can be well corrected with PEC) but that the speed is
changing with time.
