Well, guess you have to include some individuals with better acuity then
next time. The first couple of posts in this thread indicate that I was able
to resolve Ras Algheti at 4.6" with a magnification of 22x. That's 101" if I
am not mistaken. I think that's how the thread started.

Are you sure, just checking?
this was your first post
[For example, Ras Algheti (~3.6") is at the practical separation limit
of my
60mm/700mm Tasco. On VERY clear nights, I see it split even at
magnifications of 31x.]
Of course later it was confirmed that the separtion is 4.6".
That would give 142 arcseconds apparent, right in line with what I
would expect. Better than my own results, but in the top 5% of all
results (that I gathered).
BTW, although I know of numerous claims that do not agree, I have
confirmed my results with some fine double star observers, some who are
far more prolific than I.
Some of the most frequent reasons for differences are
difference in interpretation of the terms, (this is most frequent);
observers misinterpreting the focal length of a movable mirror scope
(SCTs) and therefore understating magnification;
observers not taking field notes, thinking they used a particular
eyepiece, but never again being able to reproduce the result.
