Slightly OT: Indra's Net of Pearls

I have already posted this on sci.math,sci.optics and sci.fractals, where it
generated some interesting discussions.
Basically it is a fractal of almost completely unknown structure, because
only finite subsections of it can be investigated at a time. I started
rendering the videos just a month ago. Some of the videos took as long as 4
hours to make with POVRay.
The connection to astronomy came later, after some users suggested that I
eliminated "ambient light" and "diffusion", and concerns the fact that
certain images generated thus, replicate fairly accurately sections of a
random nightsky, provided the distances are relatively large.

Of particular interest in this forum should be videos 6) and 7), after
watching 1) or 3).
For the discussions on the other forums, see:

Enjoy.
