How ironic. This excellent post about real astronomy got not a single
response: but rag on politics, and you'll get a 50 post thread. A sad
commentary on what this newsgroup has become.
Well it was an excellent post, thanks for bringing to my attention. I
didn't originally see it because I have gmail accounts killfiled. I
haven't been in this newsgroup in about 6 years and I'm surprised by the
amount of garbage. Sadly, that does mean filtering a lot of stuff, even
if it means losing some good stuff in the mean time.
Even aggressively filtering this newsgroup I see a lot of garbage. I may
not hang around, maybe there are some moderated mailing lists that would
be a better option?
Due to health problems I had to give up lugging my scope around, 6 years
ago. My health has returned quite a bit but I can't overdo it. I still
have my Intes-Micro MN56, Vixen GP-DX mount & tripod and SkySensor 2000.
The scope has been stored in it's case for about 4 years now, I wonder
if it needs anything to get it ready.
Sadly, I lost all my eyepieces so I need to get new ones. It's been so
long I'm not sure what to get for it. I just bought a Canon 350D DSLR
camera and would like to try getting into astrophotography.
