What more did you expect? As I recall, you were pushing for setting
Pluto as the bar for planet status, which frankly has nothing going for
it *but* sentiment. I don't think you can really expect anyone trying
to be honest about this using that as a major basis for setting the
criteria.
Scientists are human. Therefore, if there is a toss-up between going
one way and offending a (dead) scientist and going the other way and
somehow honoring him, it is likely that the former is the more objective
approach, because none of the human factors are going for it. If it
were objectively a dead heat between the two definitions, the IAU would
have preserved Pluto as a planet, I think.
