Esmail,
Yes, blasphemy pure and simple. I used to think that Astronomy after
all, was always a haven for me. Stars, Planets and Galaxies do not
argue among themselves who is the best or worst or what "flavor" of
political philosophy even they just stay there night after night.
I am dumbfounded by the arrogance of these people.
And if the word planet is cultural I'm betting that Americans, having
been slighted more than once today, will laugh at these IAU Astronomers
who take 76 years to figure out a definition.
I will proudly teach that there are 10 Planets not 8.
IAU Astronomers, you've been high on wacky tobbacky too long!
If somehow you were born 250 years ago you would probably whine the same for
Ceres.
Instead of being happy to live in the part of great astronomy history change
you are making dramas without real arguments.
The people from IAU are doing their job great and this was to be expected to
happen years ago.
