XT8 is a regular dob, so there is no go-to and nothing to connect Starry
Night to!
Now, you probably meant the intelliscope series, which is push-to, and
I'll leave the answer to that question to others. You could also try
the starry night group at yahoo where there is an active community of SN
users and someone should be able to tell you.
Frankly, you'll probably be better off with a star atlas or guidebook
and i-series controller--that way you won't have to mess with a laptop
in the field and all the cables. Or, if you want some control or a more
versatile hi-tech set up, look into getting a Palm running Astromist or
Planetarium. Your computer then fits into your pocket-- and there are
even plug-ins to control scopes, but again whether they work with i
series you'd have to do some digging at their web sites.
