I got a NEW 35mm SLR camera off of a ebay auction, it's a little bit older
than my Topcon Super D, it's a 1930's Exacta and what's nice, the "B"
setting is wonderfull for astro photos, as when tripped at that setting, the
mirror go up, the shutter slides open and it will stay that way without you
having to hold the button down, it stays that way until you advance the
film, at which time the mirror goes down and the other shutter curtain
closes, I just might shoot a short or two at night to see if it does ok. Oh
ya, I got it for $28.00

Shhh!!!! Don't tell anybody!

Lots of older cameras work very well for astrophotography.

I'm partial to screwmount Pentax myself. The lenses are
excellent and the screw mounting is rock solid. They're
also dirt cheap, because nobody wants them.

There are lots of lens adapters on EBay. The one I use
the most is M42 to EOS, to use Pentax lenses on my
Digital Rebel.
