what a great find ! Refreshing to see someone actually MEASURE
something and is not afraid to call spade a spade.
Reading the same old dumbing descriptions like "any defect will likely
get unnoticed" becomes a bit long in the tooth in 21st century.

I heartily agree - sure beats "splits epsilon lyrae". Maybe I need to
resurrect my grad school French-lite! You know, it is amazing that folks
who buy a $25 piece of glass and grind, polish and figure it in their
basements know more about the optical quality of the resulting optics than
do those who shell out thousands of dollars for an instrument from a major
vendor.

Why is it Sky & Tel and Astronomy have to live in mortal fear of
offending advertisers when other mags (French, Japanese) seem to be
able to do thorough reviews. Where does Astronomy and Sky & Tel think
Meade and Celestron (for e.g.) will advertise, "Time?"
