Yes, it would be nice. Essential IMO.
Definitely, as we've been discussing in the Yahoo SkyScout group
recently.
Disassembling one reveals there's no mechanical calibration possible,
so
it's all done by software (confirmed by message strings in the
firmware dump).
Some of the Yahoo group members are attempting all sorts of key
pressings on powerup to see if a calibration and/or debug mode can be
entered thusly, but I suspect it will need to be done over the USB
connection
from a PC using a program that hasn't been released by Celestron.
It would be interesting if an optional (re-)calibration mode could be
added in
some firmware update, something akin to how GOTO mounts are setup by
aligning on 2 or 3 known stars.
