Re: Podcast: Counting Aliens with the Drake Equation

Have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjQgqZ6eMP4 for (possible)
proof.

Also the Drake Equation has been updated.

Something to think about.

Podcast: Counting Aliens with the Drake Equation

If you're wondering how many extraterrestrials there are in our galaxy,
you just have to use a simple equation developed by astronomer Frank
Drake in 1961. Just find out how many stars there are, how many support
life, how many advanced societies form, and a few other details and
we'll be set.

OK, but that famous equation doesn't tell me how many sentient species
are in our galaxy. It doesn't even tell me that there is one other.

Drake's famous equation might be considered /infamous/ in the future;
if 100,000 years from now humans are still around, and they know about
Drake's equation, and we still haven't found sentient life or evidence
thereof elsewhere, then I think that the equation will be considered
very naive and quaint.

I just need a bit of evidence. The tiniest bit from a reputable source
would get me started.

Wishful thinking isn't evidence.
