LX200 gps 10" scope!!
doublecluster in one field of view or am i wrong.?From my opinion with the 35mm panoptic 2" i can't have the
What could be the best combination of eyepieces to see the double
cluster in one field of view ?
Maybe the 55mm plossl 2" from televue? or the new TMB Paragon 40 mm
(69°)
Thanks very much for helping me out!

As Sketcher has already indicated, technically a 10" f/10 scope with a 35mm
Panoptic can ALMOST get all of the Double Cluster in one field, depending on
how you define the boundaries... In fact, from a practical standpoint, it
CAN get both clusters in one field, but it's awfully tight, with an AFOV of
about 0.94 degrees... You can get there with a tiny more space around
things with a 55mm Plossl, a 40 mm SWA, 41mm Panoptic or 31mm Nagler. But
ALL of them will still really crowd the Double Cluster in their field
because 1.0 to 1.1° is about as much field as the scope can deliver...
I speak from experience, as I have a Meade 10" F/10 SCT, and several of
these 2" low power, wide field eyepieces, AND the double cluster is one of
my very favorite objects...
Personally, I prefer the view in my 12" f/5 or 13.1" f/4.47 Newtonians,
which allow more *framing* of the double cluster, so it isn't as
claustrophobic, field stop to field stop... But the SCT's view is
*acceptable*...
