The newest Moderated sci.astro.amateur board allows members to create
their own polls. There are now five up and running. Members can vote
and guests can view the results.
Polls appearing now:
1. MOTIVATION (10 straight clear and moonless nights. . .on how many
will you do some observing?)
2. WEIGH IN (If you could only observe one of the following for a
year, it would be:)
3. HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOIN' ON? (How long have you been an
amateur astronomer?)
4. THE COST OF AMATEUR ASTRONOMY (About how much money do you have
invested in amateur astronomy?)
5. NAKED EYE OBSERVING (How much of it do you do and how satisfying
do you find it?)

OK I joined, but do not expect much of a user base unless participants
in the USENET sci.astro.amateur emigrate en masse to it.
Right now I see only about 34 members on the forum. I hope that it
grows to be like the other big moderated non-usenet forums like
Universe Today, then it will be of more importance.
In the meantime I still hang out on sci.astro.amateur
