Consider your objectives. If you are interested in lunar or planetary
imaging, a webcam will almost certainly outperform any other camera,
even high end astronomical cameras. If you are interested in deep sky
imaging on the cheap, there are various modifications to digital cameras
(most involve finding ways to cool the sensor) that can allow for at
least reasonable images.
