Please let me gently note that Bradley, in the early 18th century, came
up with one of the most accurate estimates for the speed of light
before the 20th century, something like 301,000km/s if I recall my
physics book correctly.

The original insight by Roemer, based on orbital comparisons, was
correctly termed the Equation of Light or the calcuable effect of
variations in distance in terms of finite light speed.Your
indoctrinated junk bases the effect by running the Earth's orbit off
a distant star completely the contrived mess created by Flamsteed/
Newton.

He also discovered nutation. Interestingly,
his estimate based on the aberration of light turned out to be more
accurate than lots of those later produced by the use of terrestrial
devices -- although those methods were also an interesting part of
the story, and provided an approach that didn't depend on astronomical
assumptions.

Listen Margo,I know all too well the consequences of being stuck in
indoctrinated junk and especially this stupid habit of refering axial
and orbital motions to a celestial sphere framework instead of
refering axial and orbital motion to themselves and around the Sun.It
is absolutely vital for appreciating climate and the real explanation
for the seasons.I have already demonstrated how to use the images of
Uranus to extract the same information for our planet in assigning a
change in orbital orientation while treating axial rotation as a
seperate motion and orientation -

The point is that you are stuck in an astrological framework and apply
the bright and breezy astrological reasoning of Bradley.Had you the
intelligence to grasp the insight of Roemer in making orbital
comparisons between Earth and Jupiter in terms of the anomalous motion
of Io,I would be discussing how the astronomical motions of the Earth
condition planetary climate instead of contending with late 17th
century garbage.

Since a lot of this discussion hinges on the speed of light and the
geometry of an expanding universe, it seems to me that a warm tribute
to Bradley is very much in line.

Most appreciatively,

Humanity are getting a warm tribute from the trio of Flamsteed/Newton/
Bradley alright, in the inability to explain the basic link between
climate and the motions of the Earth and how to seperate the natural
background from human influences in truly global terms.Your kind are
both unpleasent and dangeous and only now do I understand the force of
Galileo's words in describing your ability to establishj conclusions
and fill in the details afterwards.

The old days when you could wax lyrical about a misinterpretation like
an 'expanding universe' is over, you can continue believing it to your
heart's content but the fact is that you can't even interpret the
motions of the Earth correctly let alone Universal evolution and
structure.
