If you've got decently dark skies, I'd tend to go with 10x50's of some
sort myself. The problem with most astronomical objects is that they
are DIM, so the usual advice is to get big, light bucket objectives. Of
course, weight and exit pupil size also have to be taken into
consideration, but 10x50's aren't getting too far out of hand. And, if
you want to really home in on something, you can always stick 'em on a
tripod.
Whatever you get, enjoy 'em! Binoculars are wonderful for
astronomy, even if you've got a 'scope.
