Did you make SURE about it's collimation ?
SCT's and planetary viewing in general are VERY
particular about critical collimation. And only
a star test will tell weather it is truly collimated
well. There's no other way for SCT's
Being a visual observer exclusively the numbers
don't really mean much to me, as much as a star
test and collimation before every observing session.
To me, scopes are a means to an observational end.
