I recently bought a Tectron cheshire and it shows a much better view
of my primary and secondary mirrors than the collimating cap that came
with my 4.5 Dob.
I understand how to collimate the primary using the cheshire.
However, I am still uncertain whether the secondary is aligned with
the primary.
The secondary seems centered in the primary.
Is the secondary inside the reflection of the primary? When I look at
the mirrors with light hole of the Cheshire exposed, there is a slight
gap- white space in the northeast section of the mirrors . In other
words, the two circles are not totally aligned.
When I look at the mirrors with the cheshire all the way in, the
secondary seems centered.
Suggestions?

Did you get the sight tube??? It will most likely answer your question...
The autocollimator is VERY useful, too, but not at THIS stage...
You see, the three tools ARE pretty well thought out... And with them you
can get your scope VERY closely collimated... You can get close with just
the Cheshire, but that's CLOSE; no cigar...
