Making the lap telescope

After chamfering the edges of the 4" mirror a couple days ago with my
hand sander, today I built a stand to do the grinding and polishing.

I had an old stool made from 2"X2" uprights with 2X4" side pieces and
top. I cut some scrap 1/4" ply to form a bottom into which I can pile
scrap metal or rocks for weight. I also cut a top for it from the ply
and made some "cleats" to put at 120 degree intervals round the mirror
to keep it from moving and nailed em down, Gave the whole thing a
coat of paint from some waste house paint and it is ready to use.

Next step, clean an area in the utility room for doing the grinding.
