Mercury & Venus in Morning Sky

Mercury and Venus are now rising together above the southeastern (for
mid-northern observers) horizon in the brightening twilight. This
morning Mercury was easily visible to the upper left of Venus. The
two shared the same (8x42) binocular field and will be even closer
tomorrow morning -- sharing the same low-powered telescopic field. A
reasonably low horizon to the southeast will be helpful in allowing
views of these planets before the sky brightens too much. At the same
time, Jupiter and the waning moon are progressively further to the
west.
