Oh, really?

Since stars happen to be very big, heavy objects, and since there is
no good reason to assume that the whole Universe revolves around me, I
would expect that if all the stars, together, seem to move around the
Earth once every 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds, then it's a
rather good bet that this means the Earth is rotating axially with
exactly that period, rather than that the stars are doing the moving.

Or even that the stars are moving around us once a year, so that axial
rotation is "really" once every 24 hours. That would be the scheme of
Tycho Brahe, which is not a true heliocentric scheme, which favors the
Earth over Mars or Venus for no particularly good reason except the
subjective fact we happen to live there.
