Thanks once again to everyone who replied to my OP. Following the
consensus suggestion, I checked my collimation, and it is terrible--
worse than any of the examples of poor collimation shown in the
"collimate SCT" websites. Hopefully, I can fix it in the next few
days.
Don't neglect to make sure that your diagonal isn't contributing to the
problem.
