In his fictional narrative, based on a forum setting , three friends
argue the merits of the geocentric and heliocentric premises and
conclusions and where Galileo himself puts his own popularisation of
the telescope in perspective of the great Copernican insights
regarding the Earth's motions within the arguments
SAGR. "0 Nicholas Copernicus, what a pleasure it would have been for
you to see this part of your system confirmed by so clear an
experiment! " [Telescope]
SALV. "Yes, but how much less would his sublime intellect be
celebrated among the learned! "

To give Galileo his due,he did understand and promote the method which
Copernicus used to extract the orbital motion of the Earth via
retrogrades ( which left daily rotation to explain the day/night
cycle) but this era no longer acknowledges the reasoning which
Copernicus proposed,Kepler refined and Galileo understood by adopting
a later and careless approach via Newton.
In the spirit of this year which is meant to promote astronomy using
Galileo and magnification as a focal point, take his words to heart
insofar as it is putting images into context which truly makes a
person an astronomer rather than the size and expense of the
magnification equipment.
