Sorry, that just doesn't work. The angular velocity itself simply isn't
constant, and it can't be predicted, forward or backward. In fact, the
current velocity is decreasing at a smaller rate than in the recent
past. So the farther back (or forward) you attempt to extrapolate, the
greater your error will be.

Really? I can see small short term (decades, centuries) fluctuations
dues to the changes in Earth's moment of inertia... but long term
(eons), one might guess that the overall deceleration would be close
to the predicted curve.

Of course, mother nature may have other ideas... ;-)
