Anyone Using Beejive on iPod?

When I receive an IM on my iPhone I get an audible notification. When
my wife receives an IM on my iPod Touch I get no notification.

I truly hope that I'm missing something in the instructions, because an
IM client that requires the recipient to wear earphone to receive
notification is useless to us.
