Typical sad right wing xenophobic git rant from the resident troll.

Studying the Earth's atmosphere and climate are legitimate, and I
don't think the current President and Congress are troubled by NASA's
activities.

Unlike the previous brain dead presidential specimen, who put people in NASA to censor scientists and delete references to the Big Bang.

But you are right that there are stupid policy reactions to global
warming.

We should not deny ourselves energy.

It isn't a case of denying ourselves energy but of using what we have much more efficiently. The time for crass over weight SUVs doing single digit mpg is long gone. But so long as the US has dirt cheap fuel there will never be any real progress towards energy efficiency there.

Time to let the big three automakers go to the wall. There is no excuse to get anything less than 40mpg for a saloon car with modern engines and aerodynamics. My own car manages a shade under 60mpg (diesel).

Instead, though, there is nuclear power, to which we should switch.

That is OK for the base load, but battery technology is still nowhere near good enough to use it large scale for private cars. And no existing national grid could cope with the daily recharging regime.
