The haze is starting to lift, I am starting to see where you are
coming from...
Limiting yourself to this single frame of reference to explain the
seasons is a huge mistake. Sure, in the central star frame of
reference the earth appears to rotate 360 degrees in 24 hours, 15
degrees per hour, etc. etc., and if you keep your blinders on and
refuse to step back one frame of reference, well, you will find that
you really do need your Magical Mystery Motion to make everything work
out. However, if you simply step back and see the next-larger picture,
everything clears up nicely, it is starkly obvious that there is no
orbital specific and that none is needed.
There is nothing invalid about utilizing the sphere of fixed stars as
an external reference, why would you even deny such a thing? Your
arguments are similar to someone born and raised within a windowless
vessel orbiting the earth. In that world there would be no up and no
down, no gravity. No one would be able to convince those citizens that
such a force even existed. The addition of a single window to this
craft would literally open up a whole new world to the occupants, thus
establishing the importance of considering various frames of
reference.
So, when we step back from the central star frame of reference, which
includes the entire solar system, and look at the next frame, well, we
can learn a lot by just taking a different perspective. Here we can
easily see that 360 degrees in one frame is not the same as 360
degrees in another, but that's OK, no rules are being broken by doing
this, but it is now clear why no "new" rules are needed to explain the
seasons. There is no slow turning in the larger frame of reference,
only in the smaller frame.
I could go on and on about how things are interpreted differently,
from different frames of reference, and so could you, if you thought
about it for a while, and so could most other folks here, too. You
really, really need to step back and examine ALL the various parts and
pieces in ALL the various frames, otherwise you will surely be fooled,
just like those folks in the windowless spaceship in orbit around the
earth.
