Pigs indeed !,your kind have always existed but never have been so
dominant and while I see nothing here but non astronomical judgments I
will not join you in that weakminded pursuit therefore for me it does
represent a point of closure and has been heading in that direction
from the intensive push I have been making over the last few
months.Again, the point is finding an astronomer who would not dare
diminish the achievements of the great astronomers in structural and
timekeeping facets, that I did not find one is not your fault nor
anyone else's but that is about as far as it goes.
You and your colleagues represent children of Flamsteed's equatorial
coordinate system, not just the reasoning behind it but also the
ability to act as an anonymous consensus that admits no invention or
creativity, something so vital for astronomy to flourish that its
absence reflects a contemporary malady that extends beyond astronomy
itself. It is that individual who values his own life and that of
future generations who makes the difference ,this being no opinion but
something that already happened when an individual encountered your
kind -
"...if it so please Almighty God, to continue my life and health a
little longer, they the Professors (or Priests) shall not hinder me of
my pleasure, as from my last drawing, viz, of bringing my watch to a
second in a fortnight...And so, as I do not now mind the money (as not
having occasion to do so, and withal as being weary of that) the Devil
may take the Priests..." John Harrison

The story of how humans developed a system where one 24 hour elapses
into the next 24 hour day and how these timekeeping averages derived
from raw observations of natural noon inequalities is barely obscured
now, just a small group of astrologers hanging on to their 'sidereal
time' conception which proposes a constant 24 hour natural noon cycle

It is this unstable addiction to a celestial sphere system that is
holding up work where the motions of the Earth are required to
explain terrestrial phenomena and especially in the links between the
motions of the Earth in dictating climate and explaining the seasons
properly.
Again,it is not a matter of enduring personal opinions of me,the
insult is not finding a decent, genuine and competent astronomer and
that I cannot control.- Hide quoted text -

It is clear in all the pictures you have shown and all
that others on SAA that the seasons are the result
of the tilt of the earth, relative to the plane of the orbit and
the orbital motion that cause the seasons.
It is also clear that both northern and southern hemispheres
have different extremes of season because of the eliptical
nature of the orbit
The equation of time is a clumsy way to take an accurate
time and correlate that to the Earths daily time that the
sun is directly over head. This can also be calculated by
knowing the tilt, the eliptical nature of the orbit and the angle
between the tilt and the eliptical major axis.
Most everyone on this list knows these things and can
observe these things. I have tried in the past to see what
strange way you look at these things and find that others
can't understand.
Dwight, you are a champion and I would not dare offend you as you mean
no harm.
http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/nof/sun/images/high_low_sun.gif
Your idea of 'tilt' originates from Copernicus who said that the
Earth's axis/Equator had a variable inclination to cause that summer/
winter effect you see in the graphic above and that if the rotational
orientation/tilt was at 90 deg perpendicular to the Sun there would be
no seasons.
The first thing you should notice is that between the summer and
winter extremes as the apparent arc of the Sun is high or low there
would be the Equinox. The Equinox is the event where effectively all
locations on the planet experience the same conditions that exist at
the Equator all year around. So Dwight,as the Equator has no seasons
and the 'tilt' is fixed to Polaris there has to be another dynamic
behind seasonal variations and that is when you look at the unique
planet that is Uranus and then make planetary comparisons with the
Earth and then work it all out.
Now,Dwight, all this dithering around variable tilt to the Sun or
orbital plane is not going to help future generations deal with the
enormous problem which they will inherit just as we have.Global
climate is not as much a problem as all the rubbish that is now dumped
into it by people who want to dictate the way people live while not
knowing what causes the climate background via the motions of the
Earth and why we experience the seasons.
I believe that had I lived in the time of Newton, I'd have
disliked him personally. Still, his math discribes the
motion of the planets.

Who cares, to me he is just another mathematician who did not spot the
basic astrological error of Flamsteed on which he built his agenda
making his take on Kepler's orbital geometry and any other variant
pretty much useless given that it is created out of the 365/366
calendar system.
Your best bet is go back and look at the summer/winter high and low
trajectory and then think about the Equinox just as I have told
you.Only then can you start to consider that it is the specific way
the Earth orbits the Sun that accounts for the seasons and the
variations in the natural noon cycle when allied with daily rotation.
I will pretty much leave this forum to its own astrological devices
from here on in as you all are descendents of the same people who
tried so hard to block Harrison in his endeavor to create accurate
watches which maintain the correlation between clocks, terrestrial
longitudes and daily rotation as 24 hours/360 degrees, the most
fundamental correlation in all astronomy for daily rotation through
360 degrees without an external reference.
