It seems that any apparent long- or short-term change in weather
patterns both explains and is explained by "Global Warming", yea
verily, is both the cause and effect of "Global Warming."
Too hot this summer? Global Warming! Too cold this winter?
Global Warming! Too little rain, too much rain, more variability than
expected, less variability than expected, some glaciers melting,
others growing, higher high temps, lower high temps, lower low temps,
higher low temps, or even completely normal temps and rainfall all
are evidence for Global Warming!
Since your post complaining that every severe WEATHER event is touted
as Global Warming is a common meme from the most prominent Global
Warming DENIER web sites and is NOT EVER discussed at scientific
meetings, in journal articles, or on the web sites/blogs written by
scientists about CLIMATE and Global Warming it indicates where you get
your "information"
And what agenda would that be?
Could be an extreme right-wing neo-con (Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity etc),
it could be libertarian (Cato, Heritage) or just stupid (Heartland).
Since the meme that, to use your words "alarmists", claim that any
weather event is Global Warming is pushed by all the above groups it
is hard to determine without further evidence what your particular
agenda is.
You said there was an agenda, so tell us what it is.
The reported science is very consistent and
doesn't report anything like you claim.
The science is currently very inconclusive and based primarily, it
seems, on the predictions of computer models. There are measurements
of CO2 levels, but not much else that seems reliable.
Then the alarmists need to stop holding up examples of severe weather
(Hurricane Katrina) as "evidence" of Anthropogenic Global Warming, and
stick to the science, such as it is.
The science is very clear and once again is NOT EVER discussed at
scientific meetings, in journal articles, or on the web sites/blogs
written by scientists about CLIMATE and Global Warming. It is,
however, a nearly daily drumbeat from the politically and financial
driven groups that spread Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD) about the
science. ExxonMobil spent $16 million to fund astroturf groups to
spread FUD about the science.
If the _science_ is not being discussed at scientific meetings then
what, exactly, IS being discussed?
The science is well tested and documented. The fact you would say
"stick to the science, such as it is." suggests that you know nothing
about the science and are merely repeating what you hear from the
astroturf groups.
The science, such as it is, is incomplete and inconclusive.
Miloy and Morano report this
kind of trash, but then they get paid to do so. Miloy and Morano will
still tell you that cigarettes are good for your health by the way
I never heard of Miloy and Morano.
Odd you are repeating the trash they spew
I keep looking for the logic in the alarmists' arguments only to
discover that there really isn't any.
I suggest you try learning a little physics, mathematics and
meteorology because if you cann't see the logic then you know nothing
of science or mathematics.
I understand science, mathematics and logic, but WRT the alarmists,
there is little logic to found. Of course not all scientists even
agree that the Earth actually is getting warmer or what the actual
cause might be, but we still get statements such as "The debate is
over."
If Global Warming concerns you, I suggest you travel a little less,
maybe a lot less, and help reduce your Carbon Footprint.
