Oriel36 actually responds... or is it Min or Lin?  Anyway, I DO acknowledge
the one "input" and that's the sun.  Although we think we know about cycle
22 (which it doesn't appear we know much about now), there may be other
solar cycles that could easily cause global warming or any of the ice ages
we've had.  In the short astronomical time man has been studying the sun, it
is impossible to predict all of the cycles it may have.  Planetary dynamics
may have something to do with it, but I doubt it.  That is, unless our axial
tilt, revolution distance or magnetic field has changed over the time
scientists started discussing global warming, and to my knowledge such
parameters have not changed.

All I see are mostly old men who think astronomy is a middle class
magnification hobby wrapped up in a timekeeping astronomical framework
and several levels below what astronomy actually is.I will make it
clear enough for you in case you are under any illusions about the
link between astronomy and climate -

Nobody explains properly the cause of the temperature variations
during a day and night cycle as you can't express daily rotation
properly, either as an independent motion in itself or in combination
with orbital motion in generating variations in natural noon.

You can't explain the huge seasonal temperature variations using the
specifics of orbital motion and insist on the original explanation by
Copernicus using variable inclination to the central Sun although the
history is manufactured to express it as 'tilt to the orbital plane'
*.

The last time such a crude correlation was posited ,such as the
present reckless carbon dioxide/global warming one,was Newton in
throwing the kitchen sink in trying to make planetary motion look like
terrestrial ballistics but the really, really crude one is the
astronomical equivalent of 2 + 2 = 5, the correlation between a return
of a star and daily rotation in 23 hours 56 minutes 04 seconds.Once
that exists there is not a chance anyone understands the planetary
dynamics behind the seasons ,discriminating weather from climate or
the ability to handle temperature spikes.

So,the social tyranny of carbon dioxide/global warming which packages
pollution under the name of 'climate change' and excludes planetary
dynamics as an input represents an ideology which mirrors that of
1950's communism in the ability to manufacture observations to suit
whatever purposes even if they are well intentioned ones.

Congratulations to everyone here for making sure that all the wars and
sacrifices of people to protect individual achievements and a healthy
background for children is now replaced by an indoctrination and a
spurious propaganda that rams through a conclusion without having a
clear understanding of even basic temperature fluctuations.

* the equator and the earth's axis must be understood to have a
variable inclination. For if they stayed at a constant angle, and were
affected exclusively by the motion of the centre, no inequality of
days and nights would be observed. On the contrary,it day or the day
of equal daylight and darkness, or summer or winter, or whatever the
character of the season, it would remain identical and unchanged."
Copernicus
