Okay, but in another post you say:
"The term 'conscious experience' is preferrable to the term
'consciousness'. 'Conscious experience' is all the things during that
short period of time that you call 'now'. It includes your inner
speech, perceptual fields, dreams if they are happening, imagination
etc. The small part of conscious experience that you call *thinking
about a thing* is a good skill for success in better paid jobs.
All the remarks I have made in earlier posts are about 'conscious
experience'. It is conscious experience that has a definite state or
form, that contains many things simultaneously. It is conscious
experience that cannot be modelled in an information system. It is
conscious experience that is the output of cortical processing."
I can draw two conclusions from this:
1. Your perceptual field model is static in the respect that it is
populated and depopulated but the information is newer -used-. (I was
nearly going to say -processed- further, but then you would have
rotated in your chair, I guess.) No mechanism is provided that picks
an object for further study or action. I may be wrong here, if so
please elucidate.
2. Since there is no mechanism for usage within the manifold
everything happens at once. Ie in your model the consciousness is
multitasking. This is contrary to observations, see "Executive Control
of Cognitive Processes in Task Switching," Joshua S. Rubinstein, U.S.
Federal Aviation Administration, Atlantic City, N.J.; David E. Meyer
and Jeffrey E. Evans, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich.,
Journal of Experimental Psychology - Human Perception and Performance,
Vol 27. No.4. There are newer papers that explains this better but
this is at least describing the time penalties for switching that
proves that the consciusness is really singletask oriented.
Furthermore it proves that taskswitching is a -process-, not always
under conscious control but often, that needs to be explained.
