You see these wrong ideas all over the place especially in the media and
the pop books.
Never have so many been so wrong about so much! On the other hand,
better wrong, than "not even wrong" (W. Pauli).

Here is what is taught at Cal Tech from John Pea***'s book
"Cosmological Physics" where I start this whole thing from. BTW
Pea***'s theorem neglects vacuum coherence entirely and leads to the
cosmological constant problem. But Pea*** ties together totally random
micro-quantum zero point virtual quanta and Einstein's gravity theory in
the correct way. Hal Puthoff & Co do not do so, but ignore the
constraints of Einstein's gravity theory completely. Also Mike Turner
does not have the idea of vacuum coherence either. All The Pundits who
think dark energy and dark matter are fundamentally different are
barking up the wrong tree. Both have w = -1 but large dark matter globs
look like w = 0 CDM in their gravity lensing!

Pea*** writes p. 25 - 26

transverse polarizations such as the cosmic black body radiation at ~ 2.7 K.

This gives the famous GR factor of 2 seen by Eddington in 1919 in the
solar gravity lensing of starlight. Very pretty and simple. Keep it
simple, stupid! ;-) Avoid excess theoretical baggage! That's the Cornell
Physics Marching Song from the 1950s (Hans Bethe & Co) as in life we
march along! More with less. "Zen Buddhism! says Israel Koan.

Any claim that w = +1/3 for ZPF virtual quanta, ALL quanta of any spin,
is utter hogwash and is to be not tolerated at all. It's not Kosher!
It's The Golden Calf! It's a False Image. Puthoff & Co have you all
Dancing Mesmerized Round The Golden Calf! :-)

OK, here's why.

John Pea*** writes that a locally generally covariant term /\guv added
to Einstein's field equation was understood by Einstein to mean "the
curvature of empty space". p. 25

Theorem

Part A Special Relativity requires w = -1 for ALL zero point quantum
vacuum fluctuations!

See Fig 1.3 Piston in cylinder, p. 26 whose caption is "A thought
experiment to illustrate the application of conservation of energy to
the vacuum. If the vacuum density is rho(vac) then the energy created by
withdrawing the piston by a volume dV is rho(vac)c^2dV. This must be
supplied by work done by the vacuum pressure dW = p(vac)dV, and so
p(vac) = - rho(vac)c^2, as required."

Voila, so we have w = -1 even in globally flat special relativistic
quantum field theory from a very deep but simple argument. No
regularizations, no supersymmetry. If we don't need it. Do not invoke it.

But we are not quite finished.

Of course the trivial NON-Exotic vacuum has rho(vac) = 0 so the problem
disappears and would stay dead were it not for micro-quantum theory and
observations of Type Ia supernovae since 1999.

Globally flat special relativity SR 10-parameter Poincare group symmetry
demands that any EXOTIC quantum vacuum stress-energy density tensor
Tab(vac) must be the same for all uniformly moving inertial observers
connected together by the 3 Lorentz boosts inside the Poincare group.
Apart from the NON-exotic trivial zero SR tensor the only non-trivial
one is nab = Minkowski's GLOBALLY FLAT ZERO GRAVITY CONSTANT METRIC TENSOR.

Therefore, in SR any EXOTIC form of a quantum vacuum must OBEY, says
Pea*** (and I agree)

Tab(vac) = rho(vac)c^2nab

with SR metric sign conventions +1, -1, -1, -1

so that Too(vac) = +rho(vac)c^2

We use the SR ideal fluid model

Ua is the SR 4-velocity of the fluid element.

Part B Enter Einstein's Equivalence Principle EEP and general coordinate
tensor covariance (GCTC) of the LOCAL smooth c-number field equations of
any physical theory at that level.

As any 21st Century School Boy of Talent should know in these
Post-Modern Times: We get from GLOBALLY FLAT SR WITHOUT GRAVITY to
LOCALLY CURVED GR WITH GRAVITY by the BATTLE-TESTED "minimal coupling
rule" of "LOCAL GAUGE INVARIANCE". It works for gravity just like it
works for electromagnetism if you know which symmetry group to locally
gauge. As a rough first approach we only locally gauge the 4-parameter
translation sub-group of the 10-parameter Poincare group. Keep in mind,
that to do it consistently we need to locally gauge the full
10-parameter Poincare group, which means there will also be a torsion
field. But let's neglect that detail for now as it obscures the main
point here.

Locally gauging the 4-parameter translation sub-group of the Poincare
group is Einstein's EEP in tetrad eu^a form. That is

guv(curved space-time) = eu^aev^bnab

Where the tetrad eu^a are LOCAL FIELDS!

Therefore, in GR

Tuv(EXOTIC VACUUM) = rho(vac)c^2guv

This is where Pea*** (and Mike Turner) stop.

They leave us with the COSMOLOGICAL CONSTANT PROBLEM that is as vexing
today as Max Planck's black body radiation paradox problem was 100 years
ago. I have solved this problem using the idea of "vacuum coherence" in
it's fullness. Yes, The Pundits toy with "vacuum condensates", but only
in a "fragmented" way (in David Bohm's sense). Sure, Lorentz, Poincare,
Fitzgerald all saw fragments of the SR idea before Einstein in 1905, but
only Einstein really groked the clues in their entirety seeing the full
meaning of Michelson-Morley's null result just as I do today seeing the
full meaning of:

1. Gravity lensing of quasars by invisible matter.

2. Type 1a supernovae data.

3. Absence of dark matter detector clicks (e.g. no supersymmetry
partners ever!) - another profound NULL observation!

Without vacuum coherence you have BIG TSURAS! (Yiddish) - a very BIG
BUBBKA under the noses of all theoretical physicists today that they
cannot get rid of! Out out damned BUBBKA! :-)

Why? Simple, ask Heisenberg! It's his uncertainty!

What you get, even Puthoff gets this much, is that

Zero Point Energy Density ~ hc/(Cutoff)^4

Even when the cutoff is ~ h/mc ~ 10^-11 cm, which Puthoff likes

This is

10^-27 10^10 10^44 = 10^27 ergs/cc

Ergo the universe cannot exist! Not even Hal Puthoff wishing will make
it so. Fairy Dust doesn't work. The real Magick Wand, The "Staif" of
Moses (AKA Prospero) is "Vacuum Coherence" i..

Total Micro-Quantum Zero Point Energy Density ~
[hc/(Cutoff)^4]{(Cutoff)^3|Macro-Quantum Vacuum Coherence|^2 - 1]

The non-exotic "classical vacuum" has ZERO Total Micro-Quantum Zero
Point Energy Density.

No supersymmetry, no point particle renormalization.

Macro-Quantum Vacuum Coherence is an idea from soft condensed matter
physics taken from "on-mass-shell" to "off-mass-shell" in which gravity
is emergent not from RANDOM micro-quantum zero point energy has Andrei
Sakharov incorrectly conjectured in 1967, but never proved, but from
NON-RANDOM MACRO-QUANTUM Goldstone "phase rigidity" in the sense of P.W.
Anderson's "More is different" principle for the emergence of
qualitatively new forms of phenomena from substrata.

Indeed, this failure to COMPENSATE the INFRARED LOW FREQUENCY virtual
photons gives PRECISELY Hal Puthoff's
ZERO VACUUM COHERENCE RANDOM requirement that

/\zpf(Uncompensated Infra-red Virtual Photons) ~ (mc/h)^2

IF he were to do the GR correctly, which of course he does not.

The ZPF energy density here is enormous, i.e. (c^4/G)(mc/h)^2 unless G
is much larger on the scale of 10^-11 cm.

Our universe simply could not exist with such an inconsistent model like
Puthoff's - and others.
