Poverty also means very different things in 2004 and 1964. I remember
vaguely outdoor plumbing, and clearly remember 1 bathroom per
small house and no air conditioning. Work was anything we could get.
I went to work when I dropped out. My wife thinks we are poor, with
a 17 year old teenager that's never worked, 3 reliable vehicles, a 2/2
house,
and a small but growing business.

While I can't afford the time and money to fly out to the SS1 flights, or
all the conferences I would like, we are doing far better than 30 years ago.
A lot of the poverty I see is perceptual.
