I have been experimenting with some of Bob Jenkins' variations of the
figure-eight orbit. You can get a wide variety of orbits which
oscillate or tumble in 3 dimensions, eventually filling or partially
filling a sphere. It will be great when the new 3D screens become
affordable so these orbits can be fully appreciated.
In my opinion these orbits are important. I think it is likely that a
real 3D figure-eight orbit will be found within the next 3 years.
Could be deduced from a good radial velocity curve of one (or more) of
the stars.
