So much for believable. I can only guess that is why you didn't post
this to sci.geology. I'm afraid your notions will get laughed at just
as much here as they would there.

There is no such thing as a pole shift, unless you are addressing
a magnetic swap of poles. Crustal displacement other than
plate tectonics is a fantasy.
