At a recent club meeting in Dallas, I attended a presentation by my
friends Frank and Linda Irby which I really enjoyed. Frank and Linda's
presentation was about their recent trip to Tasmania and Australia to
observe the Southern Skies.
In 1986, I traveled to Chile to view Halley's Comet. I prepared a
PowerPoint presentation of some slides that I took on a trip to show to
the club as a follow up to the Irby's talk. .
In order to share my short presentation, I have uploaded a copy of the
PowerPoint 2003 file to the files section of the QuadA Yahoo Group,
entitled Southern Milky Way.

I also used these pictures to update the Southern Constellation portion
of the Constellation Home Page, sponsored by the American Associatioin
of Amateur
Astronomers.

I am pleased with the scans of these slides, as they turned out much
better than I anticipated and show up quite well, both on the website
and in the PowerPoint Presentation.
Enjoy!
