Re: Solar rotation period

Differential rotation bands in the mantle generate the deviation of
the Earth's shape from a perfect sphere and simultaneously is the
mechanism from crustal motion and subsequently Earthquakes, volcanoes
and other short term geological events.Axel's question refers to the
Sun however it takes a short step to acknowledging the behavior of the
Earth's mantle in rotation would display similar traits.

Newton was only guessing with rotation and the Earth's bulge , for it
takes uni-directional differential rotation bands in the mantle as the
cause for both the shape of the planet and a more accurate mechanism
for the motion of the component plates which sit atop the mantle
,overlap in some areas and buckle in others.

This avenue of meshing astronomy with geology is one of those exciting
things for those who really have nothing to prove, while it is a long
time since I have seen Axel's postings,he is free to affirm or ignore
the possibilities of attributing a relationship between a fluid in
rotation and a deviation from a perfect sphere.Using the Sun as a guide
you can almost see how the Earth's profile is a dynamic of the mantle
rather than an artifact of the Earth's evolution billions of years ago.

This is what is called common sense.
