List of Objects By Distance (Light Years)?

Is there an on-line directory of objects organized by light-year
distance? I'm looking for something that would be able to tell me:
"Here are objects whose light left them in 1776"
"Here are objects whose light took 367 years to reach Earth" and the
like. I'm working on
something that would associate earthly historical events with the time
it's taken light from
various celestial objects to reach us.

advTHANKSance,
