NASA's Hubble Space Telescope is providing astronomers with
extraordinary views of Comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3.
The fragile comet is rapidly disintegrating as it
approaches the Sun. Hubble images have uncovered many more

As I hear more and more about the advancing
disintegration, this makes me wonder if NASA's Deep Impact
mission is being rendered a little superflous. Were our
observations of that event (the impact) substantially
different, more useful, etc. than what we learn from Comet
73P?
