Dear Rob:

The battle is between Darkness and Light.
Darkness = ignorance and fear.
Note that this describes youth.
Light = wisdom and honesty.
Note that this describes those that have attained age (minus senility,
alzheimers).
The battle has been going on since mankind stood
up and started walking on two legs.
This is not a battle. We all age.
Even if the Earth should be suffused with Light, so
that unity and harmony ruled here, eventually
emissaries from other civilizations might arrive. Some
might carry the proverbial 'olive branch'. Some might be
dark civilizations, and the battle might begin again.
Perhaps nature requires both darkness and light, in
vague analogy to the way it requires positive and negative
charge.
Perhaps it is time to give Light a chance here on this
planet. We have had plenty of Darkness.
Darkness = "the way things have always been"
Light = "thinking out of the box"
Run that one up the flagpole.
