: meteoroids and was more about thier compactness and internal strength
: rather than the material they are made of.
Hardness is measured by applying a force to a diamond point and
reading off the depth of penetration in the sample being examined.

Since "regular rocks" range from chalk which is soft enough to use
as a writing material on soft slate through granite which is hard
enough to withstand storm and tempest as a tombstone to
carborundum (silicon carbide) which is used as an abrasive,
it can be said that a "meteoroid" is harder than some regular
rocks such as chalk and softer than other "regular rocks" such as
silicon carbide.
If your question has a point then I have indeed missed it and
continue to miss it, it is certainly too vague too give a definitive
answer to.
