I f it is seen semiotically one might observe that kinds of chatter
might indicate no predators around and silence as a sign of danger ( I
have this image of mothers and kids around the water hole, hunting
behavior silenc would mean a predator about too, but that would be the
silent one ;-). Jaynes has the idea that early speech was sung or at
least rhymed, note the importance of poets amoung many pre-"modern"
societies. Also the pitched languages.
Lullabies soothe and help teach language. A bird might use the same
vocalization to signal danger and it's suitability as a mate...
.
