I use Outlook Express as a newsreader. It tells me that:

OE has removed the following unsafe attachments in your
mail: Specialization Momentum.wps.

When I try to view your posting in Google Groups, I find that
the posting itself does not appear.

[moderator's note: I was puzzled by this myself: the article
came through with no attachment. While there is no explicit
policy in the newsgroup charter on posting of binaries, standard
netiquette suggests that it's a no-no, and that binaries should
only be posted in newsgroups with "binaries" in the title, like
alt.binaries.images.hubble.hubba.hubba, or similar. Since Gil has
access to a web site, he could simply post the word doc for down-
load, or if he likes, I'd be happy to stick it onto the silly
sbe home page. I have yet to see a reason to abandon the text-only
rules, however. - JAH]

I'm not sure what the rules are (and I would like to know because
occasionally I too would like to move beyond the restrictions imposed
by pure text) but your simplest course would be to never attempt
attachments in a newsgroup posting and to limit yourself to
simple text or ".rtf" formats.

If you wish, you may email me the Word document. But, if it
uses macros, I am not going to open it.
