Politeness requires an absence of blatant evasion. When dialog is
derailed simply because somebody flatly refuses to answer a critical
question after what may be days, months or even years of discussion,
then politeness will be discarded by NECESSITY. The simple fact that EK
sees fit to freely employ a nonsensical derogatory term like "crackpots"
within a scientific discourse where it appears only Edser argues against
such hopeless misuse, verifies that Edser _empirically_ supports a
"polite" discourse but EK does not.
