INVITATION TO INTERESTED
PARTICIPATION IN A TEAM EFFORT:

Please let me know if you are high in
conceptual acumen and interested in
a mutual exchange of ideas whereby two
or more of us might first seek to establish
some forum guidelines designed to
encourage new and different ideas -- but
ideas that conformance to hard data and
sound logic -- with regard to evolutionary
biology issues. We would agree to
discuss proposed terms, definitions,
concepts, rational models that conform to
hard data and logic, but would NOT simply
rehash previously existing terms, definitions,
concepts, rational models EXCEPT in
acknowledging them and discussing how
we might constructively extend or depart
from them to explore new and original
avenues of thinking on the subject of
focus. That subject would be evolution
generally, and bio-evolution in particular.

If you are at post-graduate level in any field
relating to biology, bio-chemistry, philosophy,
or bio-evolution, or are working on development
of an advanced computer simulation of an
evolutionary model, your input is especially
solicited... PROVIDED you are able and
willing to critique ideas of others NOT on
basis of whether they conform to established
convention, or on your own original ideas,
but on whether they conform to fact and sound
logic.

Correction of factual errors would be
enthusiastically welcome and urgently
solicited, as the goal would not be to depart
from reality but, rather, to try to explain it
perhaps a little differently or maybe even a
little more reasonably than others have, as
yet, if that be possible.

The object is to encourage and support
fresh new ideas, without objecting to older
ones. And discussion would be
encouraged as to arriving at some ground
rules to assure that fresh, new ideas would
not be ridiculed or dismissed out of hand,
but ruled out only on basis of fallacy in
fact or logic where that fallacy undermines
the essence of the idea. And attention would
be given to how an idea containing a fallacy
of fact or reason might be valid if brought
into conformance with reality through any
non-destructive adjustment.

The discourse would seek open-mindedness,
open-endedness, collection and consideration
of new, reliable data, brain-storming, and
innovation.

Also, this invitation itself is open to
discussion of its tenets, as presented here,
with the object being to see if we can
establish a forum that stimulates new ideas
and does not ridicule or discount them to
the extent they have potential merit. The
forum would seek mutual respect and
decorum and would be limited to no more
than perhaps five participants (not to exclude
any prospective participant who would bring
substance and originality to the table).

Prospects unwilling to commit to the search
for, and acceptance of, new ideas that are
scientifically sound, or who would participate
in such a way as to engage in behavior that
would embarrass or preempt original thinking
would be asked to so commit or retire from
the forum.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of this invitation.

If you think it has a chance of bringing together
two or more who will work to explore new
and different ideas, please comment. If you
feel a search for ideas outside the box of
conventional wisdom is inimical to good
science, by all means say so.

I look forward to your input on this idea, pro
or con. It is only, itself, an idea, and open to
discussion.

(Note: I will be consulting with a highly
acclaimed and awarded PhD in chemistry,
regarding my preparation of a tentative
application for a patent, and will solicit his
thoughts, and those of his post-grad advisees
on this idea, as well.)
