No, no, no... NOT recalcitrance, either, because that denotes a reluctance
to comply with authority (even where it might be the wiser course), nor
INTRANSIGENCE... which denotes an unwillingness to budge from a
fortified (and perhaps extreme) position, no matter what.

But look what happens when the two concepts are merged. Whether it was
no more than a serendipitous booboo, or a Freudian (absent any sexual
innuendo) merging of the two, the coinage "incalcitrance" can be implied
to transcend the two in describing the conceptual intersection between that
of an original but zealous idealist, unwilling to bow to established
(political
or intellectual) authority, together with a pundit unwilling to examine the
idealist's ideas for possible merits, on the other. Deadlock !

A forced inference? Perhaps. But at the very least poignant and
provocative
of the idea of what is NOT going on here today.

It's the best of two worlds. It's synergy. It's catalytic cookin', folks !
